MOBILE APPLICATIONS CASE STUDY

Mobile Apps and Services at the VA

Our ability to partner with a large government agency and quickly provide valued mobile development solutioning is exemplified by one of VA teams several production-available Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) mobile application, RxRefill

RxRefill is a veteran-facing public mobile application that is a stalwart in the VHA mobile application offering and if you are a veteran or have a veteran in your family, you may have already heard of it or are currently using it from your smartphone.

Our Results at the VA

Approximately 3,500 veterans use it daily to meet their prescription needs, without a vehicle, a phone call, or an appointment.  This is a simple example of our ability to understand the customers, the enterprise, the processes, the data, and the native mobile application solution.  TekFive leads the migration of multiple applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS), NextGen, and Kubernetes. Our team also implemented automated testing for our applications. Development activities involved updating and maintaining web applications and converting web applications to iOS and android specific mobile applications. Demonstrated in the regular release of applications is the TekFive domain knowledge of the VA infrastructure. We have extensive experience releasing patches, minor and major releases, and the Verification/Validation (V&V) process associated with each type of release. Additionally, we have maintained 508 compliance for all of our applications through our understanding of VA’s mobile application standards and requirements.  Finally, all the above was accomplished in a DevOps framework, which, you can find out more about in our DevSecOps Case Study.

Mobile Apps and Services at NASA

In addition to our Veteran Affairs (VA) mobile application value, our NASA native mobile application past performance contribution led to the establishment of the current NASA Agency Center for Internal Applications (CIMA) and the NASA App store (apps.nasa.gov).  This valuable past performance provides Team TekFive with a deep understanding of Mobile Application Development, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and Mobile Application Management (MAM).  We have been providing mobile application development and enhancement for our federal agency-level customers for over five years.  Our ability to repurpose a legacy application’s critical data and processes into a lightweight native mobile application has led to ease of access, allowing access to critical applications from any remote office or location.

Our Results at NASA

This valuable past performance was coupled with an Agency key performance indicator (KPI), with the receipt of a NASA Group Achievement Award for the Agency Mobile Apps Center of Excellence, supporting 70+ mobile apps, with over 40K NASA enterprise users.
